Up until now, Bytes parameter was used for certificate parameters throughout the framework. However, the Bytes parameter does nothing special for certificates, like validation, so this had to be done for each of the parameters which were supposed to represent a certificate. This commit introduces a special Certificate parameter which takes care of certificate validation so this does not have to be done separately. It also makes sure that the certificates represented by this parameter are always converted to DER format so that we can work with them in a unified manner throughout the framework. This is a set of libraries common to IPA clients and servers though mostly
geared currently towards command-line tools.
A brief overview:
config.py - identify the IPA server domain and realm. It uses python-dns to
try to detect this information first and will fall back to
/etc/ipa/default.conf if that fails.
ipautil.py - helper functions
entity.py - entity is the main data type. User and Group extend this class
(but don't add anything currently).
ipavalidate.py - basic data validation routines
