A TLS session is currently kept alive only while at least one member TLS connection is open. This allows concurrent connections to the same server (e.g. multiple connections to a PeerDist origin server) to use the cached session, but does not allow serialised connections to the same server to do so. Multiple serialised downloads from the same server will normally reuse the kept-alive HTTPS connection (and its associated TLS connection), and so the inability to use a cached TLS session has a minimal impact in practice. Create a TLS session cache that allows a session to persist even after all underlying TLS connections are closed, so that multiple serialised downloads can benefit from the cached TLS session if they are not already able to benefit from using the open HTTPS connection. iPXE network bootloader
iPXE is the leading open source network boot firmware. It provides a full PXE implementation enhanced with additional features such as:

You can use iPXE to replace the existing PXE ROM on your network card, or you can chainload into iPXE to obtain the features of iPXE without the hassle of reflashing.
iPXE is free, open-source software licensed under the GNU GPL (with some portions under GPL-compatible licences).
