Desktop tool for managing virtual machines via libvirt
Removing this was discussed here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/virt-tools-list/2019-June/msg00117.html For a decade, qemu and xen and virt-manager work together to make setting a manual keymap redundant. Advertising it in the UI does more harm than good, because users may think they need to specify one when in the vast majority of cases it will give worse behavior. With the XML editing UI, users still have a way to do this by hand if they really know what they are doing. Signed-off-by: Cole Robinson <crobinso@redhat.com> |

Virtual Machine Manager
virt-manager
is a graphical tool for managing virtual machines
via libvirt. Most usage is with QEMU/KVM
virtual machines, but Xen and libvirt LXC containers are well
supported. Common operations for any libvirt driver should work.
Several command line tools are also provided:
virt-install
: Create new libvirt virtual machinesvirt-clone
: Duplicate existing libvirt virtual machinesvirt-xml
: Edit existing libvirt virtual machines/manipulate libvirt XMLvirt-convert
: Convert VMX or OVF configs to libvirt virtual machines
For dependency info and installation instructions, see the INSTALL.md file. If you just want to quickly test the code from a git checkout, you can launch any of the commands like:
./virt-manager --debug ...
