I'm not clear why changing only the `wait_for_url` address was necessary and not also the `get` a few lines above, but this change seems to work for me on both literatecomputing.com Groups and a public group.
`discourse-setup` will install Docker. Several people lately have had trouble with a `|` getting turned into a `>` when trying to `curl` the site into `sh`.
Also, the recommended `git clone` command will create `/var/discourse`, so don't tell people to make that directory, as that too can be confusing.
With these changes, backups to Digital Ocean spaces can be configured with the following variables:
DISCOURSE_S3_ACCESS_KEY_ID: 'XXX'
DISCOURSE_S3_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY: 'YYY'
DISCOURSE_S3_UPLOAD_BUCKET: 'backups-bucket'
DISCOURSE_S3_ENDPOINT: 'https://nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com'
DISCOURSE_ENABLE_S3_BACKUPS: true
The previous code resulted in
NameError: undefined local variable or method `totp' for main:Object
I now understand what @tgxworld meant about we should only disable totp when I submitted this before.
This is the kind of Ruby stuff that I still don't understand well,(perhaps this isn't the most Ruby way to do this?) but this does what I think is supposed to happen. And it worked just now.
