The thumbnails were being correctly downloaded, but the URLs were not being substituted correctly in post_process_cooked because the lazy-yt output did not include the `onebox` class.
Use a helper method to simplify creating a new register. Previously this would require creating lots of different methods manually, and adding every register to the clear/reset functions
This refactors default_current_user_provider in a few ways:
- Introduce a generic `api_parameter_allowed?` method which checks for whitelisted routes/formats
- Only read the api_key parameter on allowed routes. It is now completely ignored on other routes (previously it would raise a 403)
- Start reading user_api_key parameter on allowed routes
- Refactor tests as end-end integration tests
A plugin API for PARAMETER_API_PATTERNS will be added soon
When using pgbouncer without a transaction, it's possible for the connection to change between statements in a migration. Instead, create a real table, and drop it when the migration is finished
This introduces new APIs for obtaining optimized thumbnails for topics. There are a few building blocks required for this:
- Introduces new `image_upload_id` columns on the `posts` and `topics` table. This replaces the old `image_url` column, which means that thumbnails are now restricted to uploads. Hotlinked thumbnails are no longer possible. In normal use (with pull_hotlinked_images enabled), this has no noticeable impact
- A migration attempts to match existing urls to upload records. If a match cannot be found then the posts will be queued for rebake
- Optimized thumbnails are generated during post_process_cooked. If thumbnails are missing when serializing a topic list, then a sidekiq job is queued
- Topic lists and topics now include a `thumbnails` key, which includes all the available images:
```
"thumbnails": [
{
"max_width": null,
"max_height": null,
"url": "//example.com/original-image.png",
"width": 1380,
"height": 1840
},
{
"max_width": 1024,
"max_height": 1024,
"url": "//example.com/optimized-image.png",
"width": 768,
"height": 1024
}
]
```
- Themes can request additional thumbnail sizes by using a modifier in their `about.json` file:
```
"modifiers": {
"topic_thumbnail_sizes": [
[200, 200],
[800, 800]
],
...
```
Remember that these are generated asynchronously, so your theme should include logic to fallback to other available thumbnails if your requested size has not yet been generated
- Two new raw plugin outlets are introduced, to improve the customisability of the topic list. `topic-list-before-columns` and `topic-list-before-link`
This allows things like `Ember.inject.service` to be used within the raw view. setOwner simply sets one property on the object, and the result is cached along with the other injected properties, so this should have negligible performance impact.
This is a replacement for `decorateCooked` which will work without jquery.
A backwards compatibility layer is provided for existing plugins/themes which are currently using `decorateCooked`
This means that decorateCooked can be used to modify HTML without triggering the download of remote resources (e.g. images)
In some rare cases (e.g. IntersectionObservers in Chromium), decorating needs to happen in the real DOM. For this, pass `afterAdopt: true` to `decorateCooked`
Safari starts loading images as soon as attributes are modified. Modern browsers all prefer the srcset attribute over src, so we should remove srcset last, and add it first.
This change broke IE11 support, even with the polyfills enabled. We may need to add a WeakSet polyfill, but reverting this change for now.
This reverts commit 1cd8c6ce4c.
Unicorn uses the USR1 to indicate that log files should be reopened. This commit implements the same functionality for our forked sidekiq workers:
- USR1 is intercepted in the unicorn master, and re-issued to all child processes
- USR1 is trapped in the sidekiq processes, and `Unicorn::Util.reopen_logs` is used to re-open log files
Previously all topic posters would be added which could lead to major performance issues. Now if there are too many posters, only the acting user will be added as a participant.
- Define the CSP based on the requested domain / scheme (respecting force_https)
- Update EnforceHostname middleware to allow secondary domains, add specs
- Add URL scheme to anon cache key so that CSP headers are cached correctly
There are three modifiers:
- serialize_topic_excerpts (boolean)
- csp_extensions (array of strings)
- svg_icons (array of strings)
When multiple themes are active, the values will be combined. The combination method varies based on the setting. CSP/SVG arrays will be combined. serialize_topic_excerpts will use `Enumerable#any`.
Introduces `/user-cards.json`
Also allows the client-side user model to be passed an existing promise when loading, so that multiple models can share the same AJAX request
* PERF: Allow passing an existing list of user field ids when loading
This avoids the need for running `UserField.pluck(:id)` for each user that is serialized
* Memoize user_fields to avoid rebuilding hash ever time
In IE11, the browser returns the cached HTML response, rather than the JSON formatted response. Adding the `.json` suffix ensures that the cache is not shared. Same root cause as b0211772
d7d4612b2d removed the duplicate call to initState(). However, we are relying on a side effect of the duplicate call for subfolder sites to function correctly when accessed without a trailing slash. To avoid a large refactor before the stable release, this commit restores the old behavior.
Long term we should look at migrating to Ember's built-in location library, rather than maintaining our own (very similar) version
https://github.com/emberjs/ember.js/blob/master/packages/%40ember/-internals/routing/lib/location/history_location.ts
A single SchemaCache instance is maintained by the connection pool, and made available via a schema_cache method on each connection. When the SchemaCache instance is fetched from the pool, its internal connection reference is updated to equal the requesting connection. However, since there is only one instance of SchemaCache, this internal connection reference is updated everywhere, and can ultimately result in multiple threads accessing the same database connection. In Discourse, this could result in Sidekiq jobs getting 'stuck' in database connections.
This patch modifies SchemaCache so that it caches the internal connection on a per-thread basis

Previously we were caching by user_id, but the there are only two possible outcomes. Therefore we only need to cache two values.
This removes another N+1 query when serializing multiple user cards.
This confuses me every time I run qunit tests in the browser. The tab is labelled Meta, but it's not meta! This change has no functional impact on the tests
Styling based on element-ids, it is impossible for themes/plugins to display multiple cards on a single page. Using classes is a more flexible approach. The element-ids are maintained for backwards compatibility with existing plugins/themes.
The `DiscourseLocation.initState` function was accidently renamed in 0431942f (select-kit-2) to `initOptions`. This means that the ember router does not automatically call the function after the router is initialized.
For a long time, we have been calling the `initState` function in the `init` function of discourse-location, which caused an imperceptible URL change to the the root domain, before switching back to the correct subfolder URL when ember called `initState`. This commit removes that call from the initializer, so `initState` is only called once (by ember).

This is not used in core or official plugins, and has been printing a deprecation notice since v2.3.0beta4. All OpenID 2.0 code and dependencies have been dropped. The user_open_ids table remains for now, in case anyone has missed the deprecation notice, and needs to migrate their data.

Previously, `notify_first_post_users` was loading all users into memory simultaneously, which can cause Sidekiq to run out of memory for large sites. `notify_post_users` was loading every user one-by-one in a loop.
This commit makes both these functions load users in batches of 100. This should make the memory usage of `notify_first_post_users` lower, and reduce the number of queries required in `notify_post_users`.
Some auth providers (e.g. Auth0 with default configuration) send the email address in the name field. In Discourse, the name field is made public, so this commit adds a safeguard to prevent emails being made public.
* DEV: Add data-notification-level attribute to category UI
* Show muted categories on the category page by default
This reverts commit ed9c21e42c.
* Remove redundant spec - muted categories are now visible by default
Adds a new route `/u/{username}/card.json`, which has a reduced number of fields. This change is behind a hidden site setting, so we can test compatibility before rolling out.

- Adjust maxlength of input field in JS UI
- Adjust maxlength of input field in no_ember UI
