First follow-up to the feature introduced in #19034. We don't want to pollute main components like `chat-live-pane`, so we'll use a service to track and manage the state needed to display before-send warnings while composing a chat message.
We also move from acceptance tests to system specs.
Deleting a message with a mention doesn't clear the associated notification, confusing the mentioned user.
There are different chat notification types, but we only care about `chat_mentioned` since `chat_quoted` is associated with a post, and `chat_message` is only for push notifications.
Unfortunately, this change doesn't fix the chat bubble getting out of sync when a message gets deleted since we track unread/mentions count with an integer, making it a bit hard to manipulate. We can follow up later if we consider it necessary.

This PR removes the limit added to max_users_notified_per_group_mention during #19034 and improve the performance when expanding mentions for large channel or groups by removing some N+1 queries and making the whole process async.
* Fully async chat message notifications
* Remove mention setting limit and get rid of N+1 queries
* FEATURE: Enforce mention limits for chat messages
The first part of these changes adds a new setting called `max_mentions_per_chat_message`, which skips notifications when the message contains too many mentions. It also respects the `max_users_notified_per_group_mention` setting
and skips notifications if expanding a group mention would exceed it.
We also include a new component to display JIT warning for these limits to the user while composing a message.
* Simplify ignoring/muting filter in chat_notifier
* Post-send warnings for unsent warnings
* Improve pluralization
* Address review feedback
* Fix test
* Address second feedback round
* Third round of feedback

This commit introduce a new API for registering callbacks, which we'll execute when a user gets destroyed, and the `delete_posts` opt is true. The chat plugin registers one callback and queues a job to destroy every message from that user in batches.
* FIX: Unsilence users on chat message flag disagree.
We have an auto silence rule in place for chat message flags, so we need to unsilence users if the flag gets rejected.
Additionally, it also fixes the `disagree_and_restore` action, which wasn't recovering a deleted message.
* Update plugins/chat/spec/models/reviewable_chat_message_spec.rb

The mailer in charge of sending chat summary emails applies a filter to ensure only members of groups listed in the `chat allowed groups` setting receive them. However, when you set it to `everyone`, nobody will be notified because
we treat this group differently and don't create `GroupUser` records for every user on the site.
This commit changes the mailer to skip the filter when the `everyone` ID is in the list.
Since the migration was added as a post migration, we'll try to add the constraint first, causing a NotNullViolation exception.
This only affects sites that were last deployed more than two days ago.
This commit excludes posts from hidden topics from the latest posts and user activity RSS feeds. Additionally, it also excludes small actions from the first one.
* REFACTOR: Improve reusability by Decoupling flag modal from flag target.
We want chat message's flags to have the same features as topic and posts' flags, but we prefer not having to duplicate core's logic. This PR moves target specific bits to different classes, allowing plugins to flag custom things by
providing their own.
* A couple of fixes for the flag modal:
- Make sure buttons are disabled until a flag type is selected.
- Don't throw an error when checking if the user can undo an action on a deleted topic.
- Disable flagging on deleted topics.
`delete_previous!` deletes existing topics even when we cannot send a new one due to the `limit_once_per` option. The dashboard problems PM gets deleted the next time the job runs (30 minutes), so the inbox could be empty when
admins click on the summary notification.
Handles edge-case when a user is an admin and has an associated reviewable. Hitting this exception should be rare since we clear the reviewable when
granting staff to the user.
* FEATURE: Let sites add a sitemap.xml file.
This PR adds the same features discourse-sitemap provides to core. Sitemaps are only added to the robots.txt file if the `enable_sitemap` setting is enabled and `login_required` disabled.
After merging discourse/discourse-sitemap#34, this change will take priority over the sitemap plugin because it will disable itself. We're also using the same sitemaps table, so our migration won't try to create it
again using `if_not_exists: true`.
The category table's required_tag_group_id contained references to deleted tag groups, which we copied to the new table. The new serializer tries to get the associated tag group name but fails because the tag group is nil.
This PR adds an inner join in the original migration to make sure tag groups still exist and adds a new post-migration to fix already migrated sites.
Plugins like chat add custom score type to override the title in the UI, but that should be reserved for situations when you need to manage the flag priority separately, which is configurable in the queue settings page.
Currently, if a plugin creates a custom score type, it won't be able to associate a priority, so there's no real gain from doing so. Priorities are tightly related to post-action types, which is something we might want to revise. For now, this change lets plugins move away from custom score types without compromises.
* FIX: Mark invites flash messages as HTML safe.
This change should be safe as all user inputs included in the errors are sanitized before sending it back to the client.
Context: https://meta.discourse.org/t/html-tags-are-explicit-after-latest-update/214220
* If somebody adds a new error message that includes user input and doesn't sanitize it, using html-safe suddenly becomes unsafe again. As an extra layer of protection, we make the client sanitize the error message received from the backend.
* Escape user input instead of sanitizing
* FIX: Pass category and tag IDs to the emit webhook event job.
Like webhooks won't fire when they're scoped to specific categories or tags because we're not passing the data to the job that emits it.
* Update config/initializers/012-web_hook_events.rb

You can add callbacks that get called before updating an already consolidated notification or creating a consolidated one.
Instances of this rule can add callbacks to access the old notifications about to be destroyed or the consolidated one and add additional data inside the data hash versus having to execute extra queries when adding this logic inside the `set_mutations` block.
I plan to use this in an upcoming discourse-reactions PR, where I want to like a post without notifying the user, so I can instead create a reaction notification.
Additionally, we decouple the a11y attributes from the icon itself, which will let us extend the widget's icon without losing them.
This PR moves the behavior from the PostAlerter. We delete an existing liked notification and set the `username2` attribute to the previous `display_username`. We repeat this process unless the last one is old enough or it's not in the most recent ones.
We previously used ConsolidateNotifications with a threshold of 1 to re-use an existing notification and bump it to the top instead of creating a new one. It produces some jumpiness in the user notification list, and it relies on updating the `created_at` attribute, which is a bit hacky.
As a better alternative, we're introducing a new plan that deletes all the previous versions of the notification, then creates a new one.
We send the reminder using the GroupMessage class, which supports removing previous messages. We can't match them by raw because they could mention different moderators. Also, I had to change the subject to remove dynamically generated values, which is necessary for finding them.
* REFACTOR: Improve support for consolidating notifications.
Before this commit, we didn't have a single way of consolidating notifications. For notifications like group summaries, we manually removed old ones before creating a new one. On the other hand, we used an after_create callback for likes and group membership requests, which caused unnecessary work, as we need to delete the record we created to replace it with a consolidated one.
We now have all the consolidation rules centralized in a single place: the consolidation planner class. Other parts of the app looking to create a consolidable notification can do so by calling Notification#consolidate_or_save!, instead of the default Notification#create! method.
Finally, we added two more rules: one for re-using existing group summaries and another for deleting duplicated dashboard problems PMs notifications when the user is tracking the moderator's inbox. Setting the threshold to one forces the planner to apply this rule every time.
I plan to add plugin support for adding custom rules in another PR to keep this one relatively small.
* DEV: Introduces a plugin API for consolidating notifications.
This commit removes the `Notification#filter_by_consolidation_data` scope since plugins could have to define their criteria. The Plan class now receives two blocks, one to query for an already consolidated notification, which we'll try to update, and another to query for existing ones to consolidate.
It also receives a consolidation window, which accepts an ActiveSupport::Duration object, and filter notifications created since that value.
FinalDestination's follow_canonical mode used for embedded topics should work when canonical URLs are relative, as specified in [RFC 6596](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6596)
We aren't translating these settings, so it makes more sense to move them into the code. I added an instance method so plugins can add mappings for custom reasons.
The host's category was successfully updated on the database, but the category property was not properly set when rendering the component for the first time.
We relied on backticks to identify and replace site setting names with links. Unfortunately, some translations don't follow this convention, breaking this feature.
Additionally, this lets us linkify `category settings` and `watched words` without using HTML in the translations.
You may notice that I split the texts we want to linkify into two groups. I did this on purpose to emphasize those that should be translated (regular_links) from those who don't (site_settings_link). If you can think of a better solution, I'm open to suggestions.
* DEV: Remove HTML setting type and sanitization logic.
We concluded that we don't want settings to contain HTML, so I'm removing the setting type and sanitization logic. Additionally, we no longer allow the global-notice text to contain HTML.
I searched for usages of this setting type in the `all-the-plugins` repo and found none, so I haven't added a migration for existing settings.
* Mark Global notices containing links as HTML Safe.
FinalDestination now supports the `follow_canonical` option, which will perform an initial GET request, parse the canonical link if present, and perform a HEAD request to it.
We use this mode during embeds to avoid treating URLs with different query parameters as different topics.
When a staff member clicks on a user's number of flagged posts, we redirect them to the review queue, so it makes sense to count the number of items there to calculate the count.
We used to look at post action items to calculate this number, which doesn't match the number of items in the queue if old flags exist.
Plugins listening on the `before_auth` callback can interact with the request object and access data like the user agent or the remote IP address. We'll later store this data in the user record, but it might not exist at this point if we're authenticating a new account.
It looks like this regressed in #10432.
A user can create a group if they're an admin or if they're a mod and the "moderators_manage_categories_and_groups" setting is enabled, so it's safe to always set "can_admin_group" to true for new groups.
It will let us configure automatic membership, default title, and effects on create.
The endpoint the existence of the poll and if the current user can see it. It
will facilitate using a poll programmatically, especially if we'd like to create an external poll through a theme component.
* FEATURE: Staff can receive pending user reminders more frequently.
We now express the "pending_users_reminder_delay" in minutes instead of hours so staff can have finer control over the delay.
We need to keep in mind that the reminders could still take up to 20 minutes, even when using a lower value. We send them from a scheduled job.
* Migrate to a new site setting for the reminders delay
In #12841, we started setting the ReviewableQueuedPost's target and topic after approving it instead of storing them in the payload. As a result, the reviewable_counts query started to include queued posts.
When a category is set to require approval, every post has an associated reviewable. Pointing that each post has an associated queued post is not necessary in this case, so I added a WHERE clause to skip them.
Subclasses must call #delete_user_actions inside build_actions to support user deletion. The method adds a delete user bundle, which has a delete and a delete + block option. Every subclass is responsible for implementing these actions.
Since we use the event to perform additional validations on the file, we should check if it added any errors to the upload before saving it. This change makes the UploadCreator more consistent since we no longer have to rely on exceptions.
We need to be careful when stubbing this method. SessionController#become won't be defined if production is set to true, so if these tests run first, calling #sign_in will fail for other tests.
Calling sign_in before stubbing guarantees the method is defined because the check happens when the class is loaded.
Admins can visit an approved queued topic from the review queue by clicking their title. We no longer store the created post and topic ids in the reviewable's payload object. Instead, we set the `topic_id` and `target_id` attributes.
Using 1 as the default value is confusing for some people as low-score flags are hidden unless staff uses the "(any)" priority filter. Let's change it to 0 and let every site adjust the setting to match their needs.
If you finished reviewing the initially loaded items, and there're more in the queue, load them.
Also, when fast-tracking the pending items updates, use the reviewable_count returned by the perform result. Calling "result.reviewable_count" returns undefines.
Recalculating a ReviewableFlaggedPost's score after rejecting or ignoring it sets the score as 0, which means that we can't find them after reviewing. They don't surpass the minimum priority threshold and are hidden.
Additionally, we only want to use agreed flags when calculating the different priority thresholds.
