FreeIPA relies on RedHat's Directory Server, which uses mozldap.
A FreeIPA build using mozldap would reduce the project's dependencies and
redundant code. In addition, mozldap uses NSS instead of OpenSSL.
This is beneficial for the reasons listed in [1].
