Since we are not able to properly restore the Samba server to the
working state after running ipa-adtrust-install, we should not keep
the smb.conf in the fstore.
This patch makes sure that any backed up smb.conf is removed from
the backup and that this file is not backed up anymore.
Part of: https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3479
For the AD trusts where the ID range for the root level domain is of
ipa-ad-trust-posix type, do not create a separate ranges for the
subdomains, since POSIX attributes provide global mapping.
If the IPA server is setup with non-matching domain and realm
names, it will not be able to estabilish trust with the Active
Directory.
Adds warnings to the ipa-server-install and warning to the
ipa-adtrust-install (which has to be confirmed).
Man pages for the ipa-server-install and ipa-adtrust-install were
updated with the relevant notes.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3924
Make sure that trust-add command fails when admin attempts
to add an Active Directory trust when the realm name and
the domain name of the IPA server do not match.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3923
Use 'getent admin@domain' rather than 'getent admin@REALM' to check if nss
is working properly since admin@REALM check fails in case the domain and the realm
name does not match.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3906
You cannot re-add the trust and modify the range in the process.
The check in the code was malfunctioning since it assumed that
range_size parameter has default value. However, default value
is assigned only later in the add_range function.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3870
This patch makes sure that all edits to CS.cfg configuration file
are performed while pki-tomcatd service is stopped.
Introduces a new contextmanager stopped_service for handling
a general problem of performing a task that needs certain service
being stopped.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3804
When configuring the 389 Directory Server instance, we tune it
so that number of file descriptors available to the DS is increased
from the default 1024 to 8192.
There are platform specific steps that need to be conducted
differently on systemd compatible platforms and sysV compatible
platforms.
systemd: set LimitNOFILE to 8192 in /etc/sysconfig/dirsrv.systemd
sysV: set ulimit -n 8192 in /etc/sysconfig/dirsrv
set ulimit - nofile 8192 in /etc/security/limits.conf
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3823
Drops the code from ipa-server-install, ipa-dns-install and the
BindInstance itself. Also changed ipa-upgradeconfig script so
that it does not set zone_refresh to 0 on upgrades, as the option
is deprecated.

config-fedora-authconfig : Authconfig instructions for configuring Fedora
18/19 client with IPA server without use of SSSD.
The advice header printing has been reformatted to conform with the changes.
Updates old information produced by the ipa help host command.
Also adds a section to ipa-client-install manpage about client
re-enrollment.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3820
In DomainValidator, we store a dictionary containing information
for trusted domains. This is a case-sensitive dictionary keyed by
the domain name.
We need to use case-insensitive dictionary since domain names
are generally case-insensitive.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3816
Since krbMaxPwdLife attribute is represented as number of seconds,
setting maxlife to high values such as 999 999 days (~2739 years)
would result to overflow when parsing this attribute in kdb plugin,
and hence default maxlife of 90 days would be applied.
Limit the maximum value of maxlife that can be set through the
framework to 20 000 days (~ 54 years).

Make the interactive prompts interpret the following logic:
- AD range (dom-sid/dom-name set):
require RID base if not set
- local range(dom-sid/dom-name not set):
a) server with adtrust support:
require both RID base and secondary RID base
b) server without adtrust support:
if any of RID base, secondary RID base set,
require both of them

When converting the result obtained by python-ldap library,
we need to skip unresolved referral entries, since they cannot
be converted.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3814
There was already a dependency in server package, however,
the correct place for such dependency is in freeipa-python,
since the relevant code using keyutils resides there.
Both freeipa-server and freeipa-client require freeipa-python.

Provides a pluggable framework for generating configuration
scriptlets and instructions for various machine setups and use
cases.
Creates a new ipa-advise command, available to root user
on the IPA server.
Also provides an example configuration plugin,
config-fedora-authconfig.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3670
Spec file modified so that /var/lib/ipa/pki-ca/publish/ is no
longer owned by created with package installation. The directory
is rather created/removed with the CA instance itself.
This ensures proper creation/removeal, group ownership
and SELinux context.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3727
Adds --range-type option to ipa trust-add command. It takes two
allowed values: 'ipa-ad-trust-posix' and 'ipa-ad-trust'.
When --range-type option is not specified, the range type should be
determined by ID range discovery.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3650
Hardcoded values for range parameters such as base RID or range
size could be the reason the tests produced incorrect results,
as the ranges could get in conflict with already existing ranges
on the server.
Patch dynamically chooses ID and RID range space at the end of
all ranges already present on the server.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3662
Following values of ipaRangeType attribute are supported
and translated accordingly in the idrange commands:
'ipa-local': 'local domain range'
'ipa-ad-winsync': 'Active Directory winsync range'
'ipa-ad-trust': 'Active Directory domain range'
'ipa-ad-trust-posix': 'Active Directory trust range with
POSIX attributes'
'ipa-ipa-trust': 'IPA trust range'
Part of https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3647
Previously, we deduced the range type from the range objectclass
and filled in virtual attribute in post_callback phase.
Having a ipaRangeType attributeType in schema, we need to fill
the attribute values to ranges created in previous IPA versions.
The plugin follows the same approach, setting ipa-local or
ipa-ad-trust value to the ipaRangeType attribute according
to the objectclass of the range.
Part of https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3647
This adds a new LDAP attribute ipaRangeType with
OID 2.16.840.1.113730.3.8.11.41 to the LDAP Schema.
ObjectClass ipaIDrange has been altered to require
ipaRangeType attribute.
Part of https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3647
Adds a new simple service called OtpdInstance, that manages
ipa-otpd.socket service. Added to server/replica installer
and ipa-upgradeconfig script.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3680
Default list of attributes that are checked with 7-bit plugin

In idrange-add command, ensure that RID base is prompted for
in the interactive mode if domain SID or domain name was
specified.
If domain name nor SID was specified, make sure rid base is
prompted for if secondary rid base was specified and vice versa.

Extracted common code from ipalib/plugins/cli.py and
ipalib/plugins/dns.py that provided way to prompt user

All installers that handle Kerberos auth, have been altered to use
private ccache, that is ipa-server-install, ipa-dns-install,
ipa-replica-install, ipa-ca-install.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3666
When removing an ID range using idrange-del command, validation
in pre_callback ensures that the range does not belong to any
active trust. In such case, ValidationError is raised.
Unit tests to cover the functionality has been added.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3615
In ip-adtrust-install, "adding RID bases" step would fail
if there was more than one local range defined. This can be a
common case if e.g. there are users that migrated from previous
IdM solution.
With this patch, we fail only if there are multiple local ranges
that do not have RID bases set.
Keep in mind that overlap checking is ensured by ipa-range-check
DS plugin.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3498
In trust_show command, make sure that --raw flag is honoured.
Attributes ipanttrusttype and ipanttrustdirection are no longer
translated to strings from their raw ldap values when --raw is
used.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3525
When connecting to replica, ipa-replica-manage could fail with
unknown error due to connection time out. This patch properly
handles the situation
Fixed in conjunction with https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3524
In ipa-replica-manage commands, we enforce that hostnames we work
with are resolvable. However, this caused errors while deleting
or disconnecting a ipa / winsync replica, if that replica was down
and authoritative server for itself.
Also adds an --no-lookup flag to disable host existence checks.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3524
We should respect already configured options present in
/etc/openldap/ldap.conf when generating our own configuration.
With this patch, we only rewrite URI, BASE and TLS_CACERT options
only if they are not configured. In the case they are, our suggested
configuration is inserted as a comment.
Also adds tab as a delimeter character in /etc/openldap/ldap.conf
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3582
This patch makes sure that sss is not removed from nsswitch.conf
which causes probles with later uses of sssd. Makes sure that
authconfig with --disablesssd option is not executed during
ipa client uninstall.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3577
When client enrollment fails due to the fact that host entry
already exists on the server, display an message informing the
user about the possibility of using --force-join option.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3572
Trying to insert nsDS5ReplicatedAttributeListTotal and
nsds5ReplicaStripAttrs to winsync agreements caused upgrade errors.
With this patch, these attributes are skipped for winsync agreements.
Made find_ipa_replication_agreements() in replication.py more
corresponding to find_replication_agreements. It returns list of
entries instead of unicode strings now.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3522
We need to add nfs:NONE as a default PAC type only if there's no
other default PAC type for nfs. Adds a update plugin which
determines whether default PAC type for nfs is set and adds
nfs:NONE PAC type accordingly.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3555
The ipa-replica-install script tries to add replica's A and PTR
records to the master DNS, if master does manage DNS. However,
master need not manage replica's zone. Properly handle this use
case.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3496
The following is mentioned in the log now:
- existence of host entry (if it already does exist)
- missing krbprincipalname and its new value (if there was no
principal name set)
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3481
SID validation in idrange.py now enforces exact match on SIDs, thus
one can no longer use SID of an object in a trusted domain as a
trusted domain SID.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3432
Parts of client uninstall logic could be skipped in attended
uninstallation if user agreed to reboot the machine. Particulary,
the uninstall script would not try to remove /etc/ipa/default.conf
and therefore subsequent installation would fail, client being
detected as already configured.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3462https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3463
A host that has been recreated and does not have its
host entry disabled or removed, can be re-enrolled using
a previously backed up keytab file.
A new option --keytab has been added to ipa-client-install. This
can be used to specify path to the keytab and can be used instead
of -p or -w options.
A new option -f has been added to ipa-join. It forces client to
join even if the host entry already exits. A new certificate,
ssh keys are generated, ipaUniqueID stays the same.

Any of the following checks:
- overlap between primary RID range and secondary RID range
- overlap between secondary RID range and secondary RID range
is performed now only if both of the ranges involved are local
domain ranges.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3391
When modifing the idrange, one was able to add ipa NT trusted
AD domain sid without objectclass ipatrustedaddomainrange being
added. This patch fixes the issue.
Both now enforce the following checks:
- dom_sid and secondary_rid_base cannot be used together
- rid_base must be used together if dom_rid is set
- secondary_rid_base and rid_base must be used together
if dom_rid is not set
Unit test for third check has been added.
http://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3170
When installing / uninstalling IPA client, the checks that
determine whether IPA client is installed now take the existence
of /etc/ipa/default.conf into consideration.
The client will not uninstall unless either something is backed
up or /etc/ipa/default.conf file does exist.
The client will not install if something is backed up or
default.conf file does exist (unless it's installation on master).
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3331
The name of any protected group now cannot be changed by modifing
the cn attribute using --setattr. Unit tests have been added to
make sure there is no regression.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3354
When adding/modifying an ID range for a trusted domain, the newly
added option --dom-name can be used. This looks up SID of the
trusted domain in LDAP and therefore the user is not required
to write it down in CLI. If the lookup fails, error message
asking the user to specify the SID manually is shown.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3133
Since in Kerberos V5 are used 32-bit unix timestamps, setting
maxlife in pwpolicy to values such as 9999 days would cause
integer overflow in krbPasswordExpiration attribute.
This would result into unpredictable behaviour such as users
not being able to log in after password expiration if password
policy was changed (#3114) or new users not being able to log
in at all (#3312).
The timestamp value is truncated to Jan 1, 2038 in ipa-kdc driver.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3312https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3114
Creating an id range with overlapping primary and secondary
rid range using idrange-add or idrange-mod command now
raises ValidationError. Unit tests have been added to
test_range_plugin.py.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3171
All *-find commands now enable leading/trailing whitespaces in the
search phrase. Behaviour has been implemented directly into
crud.Search class. IPA_API_VERSION_MINOR incremented to 45.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2981
When user from other realm than FreeIPA's tries to use Web UI
(login via forms-based auth or with valid trusted realm ticket),
the 401 Unauthorized error with X-Ipa-Rejection-Reason=denied
is returned.
Also, the support for usernames of the form user@SERVER.REALM
or user@server.realm was added.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3252
When executing ipa-replica-manage connect to an master that raises
NotFound error we now check if the master is at least IPA server.
If so, we inform the user that it is probably foreign or previously
deleted master. If not, we inform the user that the master is not
an IPA server at all.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3105
Forces more consistency into ipa-server-install output. All
descriptions of services that are not instances of
SimpleServiceInstance are now in the following format:
<Description> (<Service Name>)
Furthermore, start_creation method has been modified to support
custom start and end messages. See documentation for more info.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3059
Description for the 'dogtag_version', 'startup_timeout', 'server',
'wait_for_attr' option has been added. Option 'server' has been
marked as deprecated, as it is not used anywhere in IPA code. All
the options have been sorted lexicographically.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3071
Commands ipa idrange-add / idrange-mod no longer allows the user
to enter primary or secondary rid range such that has non-zero
intersection with primary or secondary rid range of another
existing id range, as this could cause collision.
Unit tests added to test_range_plugin.py
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3086
Connection error message in ipa-client-install now warns the user
about the need of opening of all the necessary ports for ipa-client
enrollment when error that might have been caused by closed ports
is encountered. Mentions the ports needed after the client
enrollment as well.
Improves other error messages during installation in various ways.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2816
Group-mod command no longer allows --rename and/or --external
changes made to the admins group. In such cases, ProtectedEntryError
is being raised.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3098
On adding new user, user-add tries to make it a member of default
user group. This, however, can raise AlreadyGroupMember when the
user is already member of this group due to automember rule or
default group configured. This patch makes sure AlreadyGroupMember
exception is caught in such cases.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3097
The sssd.conf file is no longer left behind in case sssd was not
configured before the installation. However, the patch goes behind
the scope of this ticked and improves the handling of sssd.conf
during the ipa-client-install --uninstall in general.
The current behaviour (well documented in source code) is as follows:
- In general, the IPA domain is simply removed from the sssd.conf
file, instead of sssd.conf being rewritten from the backup. This
preserves any domains added after installation.
- If sssd.conf existed before the installation, it is restored to
sssd.conf.bkp. However, any IPA domains from pre-installation
sssd.conf should have been merged during the installation.
- If sssd.conf did not exist before the installation, and no other
domains than IPA domain exist in it, the patch makes sure that
sssd.conf is moved to sssd.conf.deleted so user experiences no
crash during any next installation due to its existence.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2740
Both selinuxusermap-add and selinuxusermap-mod commands now behave
consistently in not allowing user/host category or user/host members
and HBAC rule being set at the same time. Also adds a bunch of unit
tests that check this behaviour.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2983
Password policies in pwpolicy-find are now sorted in the expected
numerical manner. Also tweaks one of the unit tests so that it
tests this behaviour.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3039
A backtrace is no longer displayed when trying to prepare a replica
file with the local LDAP server down. Also adds --debug option and
no longer displays info messages without it.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2939
In ipa-client-install, failure of restart of sssd service no longer
causes the crash of the install process. Adds a warning message to
the root logger instead.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2827
If the executable ipa-client/ipa-join is not found, the relevant
tests are skipped. Implemented in setUpClass() method, also moved
the mkstemp() call there.
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2905
