If a server is running under py2 it could return a bytes value for
the 'topic_topic' field in the schema response. A py3 client fails
to handle this (in one place it applies 'str' to it, which raises
BytesWarning; in other places it tries to serialise the schema to
JSON which fails because of the bytes value).
Handle the case where 'topic_topic' is not unicode, and handle bytes
values when serialising the schema to JSON.

The schema RPC response can include a bytes value for the

The latest version of caIPAserviceCert profile includes a feature
that is not available before Dogtag 10.4, and this version of the
profile is intended for new installs only (otherwise, problems will
arise in topologies containing CA replicas at an earlier version).
But IPA versions before v4.2 did not use LDAP-based profiles, so the
new version of the profile gets imported when upgrading from
pre-v4.2 to v4.5 or later.
We do not yet have a proper version- and topology-aware profile
update mechanism, so to resolve this issue, ship the older version
of the profile alongside the newer version, and make sure we use the
older version when importing the profile in an upgrade context.

Currently the cert-request execution is complicated and cannot
handle aliases in the --principal argument.
Implement the following simplifications:
- Search all user/host/service accounts at once, by krbPrincipalName
(error if no account found). Use principal canonical name to
determine the type of the principal.
- Update subject principals userCertificate attribute uniformly,
instead of dispatching to user/host/service-mod based on type of
principal.

The CommonNameToSANDefault component was added to Dogtag 10.4. When
a profile is configured to use it, this profile copies the CN in the
certificate to the Subject Alternative Name extension as a dNSName
(if and only if it does look like a DNS name).
It is desirable that the default service profile use this component.
Add it to the default profile, for new installations only. For
existing installations, until a proper profile update mechanism is
implemented, administrators who wish to use it must configure it via
the 'certprofile-mod' command.

The python-ldap classes that process schema definitions require a
unicode string, not a byte string. A recent py3 compatibility fix
(d89de4219d) changed the constructor
argument to a unicode string to dispel a warning, but this broke
schema update. Change it back to a bytestring.

If the Subject DN is syntactically valid but contains unrecognised
name attributes, FreeIPA accepts it but Dogtag rejects it, returning
status 400 and causing the framework to raise RemoteRetrieveError.
Update the ca-add command to perform some additional validation on
the user-supplied Subject DN, making sure that we recognise all the
attributes.

CA certificates MUST have the Subject Key Identifier extension to
facilitiate certification path construction. Not having this
extension on the IPA CA certificate will cause failures in Dogtag
during signing; it tries to copy the CA's Subject Key Identifier to
the new certificate's Authority Key Identifier extension, which
fails.
When installing an externally-signed CA, check that the Subject Key
Identifier extension is present in the CA certificate.

CAs consist of a FreeIPA and a corresponding Dogtag object. When
executing ca-del, ca-enable and ca-disable, changes are made to the
Dogtag object. In the case of ca-del, the corresponding FreeIPA
object is deleted after the Dogtag CA is deleted.
These operations were not correctly authorised; the FreeIPA
permissions are not checked before the Dogtag operations are
executed. This allows any user to delete, enable or disable a
lightweight CA (except the main IPA CA, for which there are
additional check to prevent deletion or disablement).
Add the proper authorisation checks to the ca-del, ca-enable and
ca-disable commands.

require DL >= 1, so that things will work for future DL increases.

Currently only the "subject base" of the IPA CA subject DN can be
customised, via the installer's --subject-base option. The RDN
"CN=Certificate Authority" is appended to form the subject DN, and
this composition is widely assumed.
Some administrators need more control over the CA subject DN,
especially to satisfy expectations of external CAs when the IPA CA
is to be externally signed.
This patch adds full customisability of the CA subject DN.
Specifically:
- Add the --ca-subject option for specifying the full IPA CA subject
DN. Defaults to "CN=Certificate Authority, O=$SUBJECT_BASE".
- ipa-ca-install, when installing a CA in a previous CA-less
topology, updates DS certmap.conf with the new new CA subject DN.
- DsInstance.find_subject_base no longer looks in certmap.conf,
because the CA subject DN can be unrelated to the subject base.

ability to update DS `certmap.conf' when upgrading a deployment from

Extract the existing behaviour, which is private to DsInstance, to

subjectAltName is required or relevant in most certificate use cases
(esp. TLS, where carrying DNS name in Subject DN CN attribute is
deprecated). Therefore it does not really make sense to have a
special permission for this, over and above "request certificate"
permission.
Furthermore, we already do rigorously validate SAN contents again
the subject principal, and the permission is waived for self-service
requests or if the operator is a host principal.
So remove the permission, the associated virtual operation, and the
associated code in cert_request.

Commit dbb98765d7 changed certmonger
requests for DS and HTTP certificates during installation to raise
on error (https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/6514).
This introduced a regression in DL1 replica installation in CA-less
topology. A certificate was requested, but prior to the
aforementioned commit this would fail silently and installation
continued, whereas now installation fails.
Guard the certificate request with a check that the topology is
CA-ful.

Certificate profiles consist of an FreeIPA object, and a
corresponding Dogtag configuration object. When updating profile
configuration, changes to the Dogtag configuration are not properly
authorised, allowing unprivileged operators to modify (but not
create or delete) profiles. This could result in issuance of
certificates with fraudulent subject naming information, improper
key usage, or other badness.
Update certprofile-mod to ensure that the operator has permission to
modify FreeIPA certprofile objects before modifying the Dogtag
configuration.

chain of an IPA-managed lightweight CA. Add params to the `ca'
object for carrying the CA certificate and chain (as multiple DER
values). Add the `--chain' flag for including the chain in the

The cert-request command used to accept CSRs that had extra data
surrounding the PEM data, e.g. commentary about the contents of the
CSR. Recent commits that switch to using python-cryptography for
cert and CSR handling broke this. Our acceptance tests use such
CSRs, hence the tests are now failing.
To avoid the issue, freshly encode the python-cryptography
CertificateSigningRequest object as PEM. This avoids re-using the
user-supplied data, in case it has extraneous data.

During replica installation, if the IPA deployment has a custom
subject_base, the routines that create the DS and HTTP NSSDBs
erroneously compare the subject of CA certs to the *default* subject
base. This causes the IPA CA cert to be added to the NSSDBs with a
nickname derived from the subject name, instead of "{REALM} IPA CA".
At a later stage of installation, the `upload_cacrt` plugin reads
certs from the HTTP NSSDB in order to update the cn=certificates
LDAP certstore. The NSSDB nickname of the cert is used as the CN
for the entry. Because the IPA CA cert was not installed in the
HTTP NSSDB with the "{REALM} IPA CA", this causes a spurious entry
for the IPA CA to be added to the certstore.
To avoid this scenario, use the deployment's actual subject base
when deciding if a cert is the IPA CA cert.

Update x509.load_certificate and related functions to return
python-cryptography ``Certificate`` objects. Update the call sites
accordingly, including removal of NSS initialisation code.
Also update GeneralName parsing code to return python-cryptography
GeneralName values, for consistency with other code that processes
GeneralNames. The new function, `get_san_general_names`, and
associated helper functions, can be removed when python-cryptography
provides a way to deal with unrecognised critical extensions.

we currently use our hand-rolled PKCS #10 pyasn1 specification to
parse the friendlyName out of CSRs generated by certmonger (it
contains the NSSDB nickname of the cert).
Use other information from the renewal helper process environment to
determine the nickname and remove our PKCS #10 pyasn1 spec.

Currently the Dogtag RestClient '_ssldo' method requires a session
cookie unconditionally, however, not all REST methods require a
session: some do not require authentication at all, and some will
authenticate the agent on the fly.
To avoid unnecessary login/logout requests via the context manager,
add the 'use_session' keyword argument to '_ssldo'. It defaults to
'True' to preserve existing behaviour (session required) but a
caller can set to 'False' to avoid the requirement.

The subjectAltName extension parsing code in ipalib.x509 fails on
directoryName values because the Choice structure is not endowed
with an inner type. Implement the Name structure, whose inner type
is a CHOICE { SEQUENCE OF RelativeDistinguishedName }, to resolve.
Note that the structure still does not get fully parsed; only enough
to recognise the SequenceOf tag and not fail.

The 'cert_revoke' command checks the 'revoke certificate'
permission, however, if an ACIError is raised, it then invokes the
'cert_show' command. The rational was to re-use a "host manages
certificate" check that is part of the 'cert_show' command, however,
it is sufficient that 'cert_show' executes successfully for
'cert_revoke' to recover from the ACIError continue. Therefore,
anyone with 'retrieve certificate' permission can revoke *any*
certificate and cause various kinds of DoS.
Fix the problem by extracting the "host manages certificate" check
to its own method and explicitly calling it from 'cert_revoke'.

Currently server (HTTP / LDAP) certs are created without a Subject

ipa-server-upgrade from pre-lightweight CAs version fails when
Dogtag is also being upgraded from pre-lightweight CAs version,
because Dogtag needs to be restarted after adding the lightweight
CAs container, before requesting information about the host
authority.
Move the addition of the Dogtag lightweight CAs container entry a
bit earlier in the upgrade procedure, ensuring restart.

Some container objects are not added when migrating from a
pre-lightweight CAs master, causing replica installation to fail.
Make sure that the containers exist and add an explanatory comment.

Installation from replica file is broken because lightweight CA
replication setup is attempted before Kerberos is set up. To fix
the issue, explicitly execute step 1 before Kerberos setup, and
step 2 afterwards.

Implement the --ca option for cert-revoke and cert-remove-hold.
Defaults to the IPA CA. Raise NotFound if the cert with the given
serial was not issued by the nominated CA.
Also default the --ca option of cert-show to the IPA CA.
Add commentary to cert-status to explain why it does not use the
--ca option.

Lightweight CA subject name collisions are prevented by Dogtag
(response code 409 Conflict), however, we do not want to expose the
Dogtag error. Perform the check in the IPA framework as well,
raising DuplicateEntry on collision.

cert-request supports adding service principals that don't exist.
If add is requested for other principal types, the error message
just says "the principal doesn't exist".
Add a new error type with better error message to explain that 'add'
is not supported for host or user principals.

The 'issuer' option of cert-find was recently changed from Str to
DNParam, however, 'ra.find' expects a string and throws when it
receives a DN.
When constructing the dict that gets passed to 'ra.find', turn
DNParams into strings.

Enhance the ipa-certupdate program to add Certmonger tracking
requests for lightweight CA certificates.
Also update the dogtag-ipa-ca-renew-agent-submit to not store or
retrieve lightweight CA certificates, becaues Dogtag clones observe
renewals and update their NSSDBs on their own, and allow the helper
to request non-self-signed certificates.

For CA replicas to pick up renewed lightweight CA signing
certificates, the authoritySerial attribute can be updated with the
new serial number.
Update the renew_ca_cert script, which is executed by Certmonger
after writing a renewed CA certificate to the NSSDB, to update the
authoritySerial attribute if the certificate belongs to a
lightweight CA.

After CA certificate renewal, the ``renew_ca_cert`` helper updates
certificate data in CS.cfg. An unrecognised nickname will raise
``KeyError``. To allow the helper to be used for arbitrary
certificates (e.g. lightweight CAs), do not fail if the nickname is
unrecognised - just skip the update.

Dogtag has been updated to support a default OCSP URI when the
profile includes AuthInfoAccess with URI method but does not specify
the URI (instead of constructing one based on Dogtag's hostname and
port).
Add the pkispawn config to ensure that the OCSP URI is set before
issuing CA and system certificates, and add the config to existing
CA instances on upgrade.

When checking for presence of IssuerDN in certificate search result,
we mistakenly check for the presence of the SubjectDN field, then
unsafely index into the IssuerDN field. Check the presence of
IssuerDN correctly.

After installing a replica, Dogtag's Lightweight CA key retrieval
fails until Dogtag is restarted, because the already-running
instance doesn't pick up the changes to CS.cfg. Configure the key
retriever before the instance is started.

This commit adds the 'ca' plugin for creating and managing
lightweight CAs. The initial implementation supports a single level
of sub-CAs underneath the IPA CA.
This commit also:
- adds the container for FreeIPA CA objects
- adds schema for the FreeIPA CA objects
- updates ipa-pki-proxy.conf to allow access to the Dogtag
lightweight CAs REST API.
