Nikolay Shirokovskiy a414cb76e3 qemu: support VIR_DOMAIN_DESTROY_REMOVE_LOGS flag
Note that we attempt to remove logs only if virtlogd is in use.
Otherwise we do not know the pattern for rotated files.

For example for VM named "foo" we can not use "foo.log*" pattern to
remove rotated logs as we can have VM named "foo.log" with log
"foo.log.log". We can add extra check that filename does not end with
".log" but for VM "foo.log" we can have rotated log "foo.log.log.1". Ok
let's check we don't have "log" in filename part corresponging to * but
what if someone will use logrotate with "%Y.log-%m-%d" 'dateformat'
option. In this case the check will exclude proper rotated files.

Yes, the last example if quite artificial but it shows it is difficult
to find out correctly rotated files when rotated files pattern is not
known. Thus the above decision only to support case with virtlogd when
we know the pattern.

Another reason for not removing log files when logrotate is present is
that due to races some files can escape deletion. For example foo.log.3
will be rotated to foo.log.4 after removing function will read directory
files and thus foo.log.4 will not be deleted.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 1f209eac1d qemu: remove duplicate code for removing remnant files
This patch also changes functionality a bit.

First if unlinking of old config file is failed we rollback and return error
previously and now we return success. I don't think this makes much difference.
I guess in both cases on libvirtd restart we have to deal with both new and old
config existing on disk with different names but same uuid.

Second if unlinking of old autolink is failed we rollback previously which
was not right as at this point we already unlink old config file. So this

On shutdown we just stop accepting new jobs for worker thread so that on
shutdown wait we can exit worker thread faster. Yes we basically stop

At the same time synchronous event processing that some API calls may require
are still possible as per VM event loop is still running and we don't need
worker thread for synchronous event processing.

The approach to finish threads is suggested in [2]. In order to finish RPC
threads serving API calls we let the event loop run but stop accepting new API
calls and block processing any pending API calls. We also inform all drivers of
shutdown so they can prepare for shutdown too. Then we wait for all RPC threads
and driver's background thread to finish. If finishing takes more then 15s we
just exit as we can't safely cleanup in time.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 6c6d93bc62 qemu: hide details of fake reboot
If we use fake reboot then domain goes thru running->shutdown->running
state changes with shutdown state only for short period of time. At
least this is implementation details leaking into API. And also there is
one real case when this is not convinient. I'm doing a backup with the
help of temporary block snapshot (with the help of qemu's API which is
used in the newly created libvirt's backup API). If guest is shutdowned
I want to continue to backup so I don't kill the process and domain is
in shutdown state. Later when backup is finished I want to destroy qemu
process. So I check if it is in shutdowned state and destroy it if it
is. Now if instead of shutdown domain got fake reboot then I can destroy
process in the middle of fake reboot process.

After shutdown event we also get stop event and now as domain state is
running it will be transitioned to paused state and back to running
later. Though this is not critical for the described case I guess it is
better not to leak these details to user too. So let's leave domain in
running state on stop event if fake reboot is in process.

Reconnection code handles this patch without modification. It detects
that qemu is not running due to shutdown and then calls qemuProcessShutdownOrReboot
which reboots as fake reboot flag is set.

If the console was disconnected due to a connection problem or a problem on the
server side it is convinient to provide the cause to the user. If the error
come from the API then the error is saved in a virsh global variable. However,
since success is returned from virshRunConsole after we reach the waiting stage,
then the error is never reported. Let's track the error in the event loop.

Next after failure we do a cleanup and this cleanup can overwrite
root cause. Thus let's save root cause immediately and then set it to
virsh error after all cleanup is done.

Since we'll be sending the error to the consumer, each failure path from
the event handlers needs to be augmented to provide what error generated

Nikolay Shirokovskiy d63c82df8b rpc: client: stream: fix multi thread abort/finish
If 2 threads call abort for example then one of them
will hang because client will send 2 abort messages and
server will reply only on first of them, the second will be
ignored. And on server reply client changes the state only
one of abort message to complete, the second will hang forever.
There are other similar issues.

We should complete all messages waiting reply if we got
error or expected abort/finish reply from server. Also if one
thread send finish and another abort one of them will win
the race and server will either abort or finish stream. If
stream is aborted then thread requested finishing should report
error. In order to archive this let's keep stream closing reason
in @closed field. If we receive VIR_NET_OK message for stream
then stream is finished if oldest (closest to queue end) message
in stream queue is finish message and stream is aborted if oldest
message is abort message. Otherwise it is protocol error.

By the way we need to fix case of receiving VIR_NET_CONTINUE
message. Now we take oldest message in queue and check if
this is dummy message. If one thread first sends abort and
second thread then receives data then oldest message is abort
message and second thread won't be notified when data arrives.
Let's find oldest dummy message instead.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 4deed5f3c7 rpc: fix propagation of errors from server
Stream server error is not propagated if thread does not have the buck.
In case we have the buck we are ok due to the code added in [1].

Let's check for stream error on all paths. Now we don't need
to raise error in virNetClientCallDispatchStream.

Old code reported error only if the first message in wait
queue awaits reply. It is odd as depends on wait queue
situation. For example if we have only TX
message in queue and in one iteration loop both send the
message and receive error then thread sending TX message did
not receive the error. Next if we have RX message (first)
and TX message (second) in queue and in one iteration
loop both send the TX message and receive error then
thread sending TX message received error. In short
it was inconsistent. Let's report error whenever
we received it and for every type of message as it makes
sense to report errors as early as possible.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 2fd435b785 rpc: use single function to send stream messages
In next patches we'll add stream state checks to this
function that applicable to all call paths. This is handy
place because we hold client lock here.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy a5445a3706 rpc: fix race on stream abort/finish and server side abort
Stream abort/finish can hang because we can receive abort message
from server and yet sent abort/finish message to server. The latter
will not be answered ever because after server sends abort message
it forgets the stream and messages for unknown stream are simply ignored.

We check for stream error at the very beginning of remoteStreamFinish/remoteStreamAbort
but stream error can be set after the check in another thread operating
on stream. Let's check for stream error under client lock similar
to what's done in [1].

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 74dfa15abe dosc: schema: fix usb source address device attribute format
Device attribute does not have dotted "portAddr" format. Instead it
has single number format described but "usbAddr" which corresponds
to device parsing code in virDomainHostdevSubsysUSBDefParseXML.

Looks like [1] mistakenly changed device format for hostdev devices.
And [2] copy-n-paste this for hostdev network interfaces.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy d051e7f703 rpc: virNetClientNew: fix socket leak on error path
if virNetClientNew finishes with error before sock is set
to client object then sock does not get unrefed. This is
unexpected by function clients like virNetClientNewUNIX.
Let's make sure sock gets unrefed on any error path.

Next some clients like virNetClientNewLibSSH2 try to unref
sock on virNetClientNew errors. This is not correct even
before this patch because in some cases virNetClientNew
unrefed sock on error path by itself. Let's give up
sock managment to virNetClientNew entirely.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy c541177314 qemu: don't log error for missing optional storage sources on start
Because missing optional storage source is not error. The patch
address only local files. Fixing other cases is a bit ugly.
Below is example of error notice in log now:

error: virStorageFileReportBrokenChain:427 :

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 318d807a0b qemu: don't log error for missing optional storage sources on stats
Every time we call all domain stats for inactive domain with
unavailable storage source we get error message in logs [1]. It's a bit noisy.
While it's arguable whether we need such message or not for mandatory
disks we would like not to see messages for optional disks. Let's
filter at least for cases of local files. Fixing other cases would
require passing flag down the stack to .backendInit of storage
which is ugly.

Stats for active domain are fine because we either drop disks
with unavailable sources or clean source which is handled
by virStorageSourceIsEmpty in qemuDomainGetStatsOneBlockFallback.

We have these logs for successful stats since 25aa7035d (version 1.2.15)
which in turn fixes 596a13713 (version 1.2.12 )which added substantial
stats for offline disks.

Nikolay Shirokovskiy 067aad26be qemu: disable external snapshot of readonly disk
Disable external snapshot of a readonly disk for domains as
this operation is not very useful. Such a snapshot is not
possible for active domains but the error message from QEMU
is more cryptic:

error: internal error: unable to execute QEMU command 'transaction':
Could not create file: Permission denied

This error at least makes the error more understandable for
active domains and disallows for inactive domains as well.
