While using "definitely-not-virtio" as a model name is very
cute, it will also cause the relevant test to fail once we
introduce stricter validation.
Use "e1000", which is definitely not virtio but also a valid
model name, instead.

Recent commits made it so that pci-root controllers for
pSeries guests are automatically assigned the
spapr-pci-host-bridge model name; however, that prevents
guests to migrate to older versions of libvirt which don't
know about that model name at all, which at the moment is
all of them :)
To avoid the issue, just strip the model name from PHBs
when formatting the migratable XML; guests that use more
than one PHB are not going to be migratable anyway.

what, so we can move it to the outer possible scope inside
the function.
We can also move the call to virBufferAsprintf() after all

Instead of going through two completely different code paths,
one of which repeats the same hardcoded bit of information
three times in rapid succession, depending on whether or not
a firmware list has been provided at configure time, just
provide a reasonable default value and remove the extra code.

All the pieces are now in place, so we can finally start
using isolation groups to achieve our initial goal, which is
separating hostdevs from emulated PCI devices while keeping
hostdevs that belong to the same host IOMMU group together.

Isolation groups will eventually allow us to make sure certain
devices, eg. PCI hostdevs, are assigned to guest PCI buses in
a way that guarantees improved isolation, error detection and
recovery for machine types and hypervisors that support it,
eg. pSeries guest on QEMU.
This patch merely defines storage for the new information
we're going to need later on and makes sure it is passed from
the hypervisor driver (QEMU / bhyve) down to the generic PCI
address allocation code.

PCI bus has to be numbered sequentially, and no index can be
missing, so libvirt will fill in the blanks automatically for
the user.
Up until now, it has done so using either pci-bridge, for machine
types based on legacy PCI, or pcie-root-port, for machine types
based on PCI Express. Neither choice is good for pSeries guests,
where PHBs (pci-root) should be used instead.

These tests demonstrate that, while it's now possible for the
user to create PHB explicitly and manually assign devices to
them, libvirt still defaults to extending the guest PCI
topology using PCI bridges and making suboptimal device
placement choices.
The next few commits will improve on these behaviors and the
tests outputs will automatically be updated to reflect this.

Usually, a controller with alias 'x' will create a bus with the
same name; however, the bus created by a PHBs with alias 'x' will
be named 'x.0' instead, so we need to account for that.
As an exception to the exception, the implicit PHB that's added
automatically to every pSeries guest creates the 'pci.0' bus.

pSeries guests will soon be allowed to have multiple
PHBs (pci-root controllers), which of course means that
all but one of them will have a non-zero index; hence,
we'll need to relax the current check.
However, right now the check is performed in the conf
module, which is generic rather than tied to the QEMU
driver, and where we don't have information such as the
guest machine type available.
To make this change of behavior possible down the line,
we need to move the check from the XML parser to the
drivers. Luckily, only QEMU and bhyve are using PCI
controllers, so this doesn't result in much duplication.

The current algorithm for slot allocation tries to be clever
and avoid looking at buses / slots more than once unless it's
necessary. Unfortunately that makes the code more complex,
and it will cause problem later on in some situations unless
even more complex code is added.
Since the performance gains are going to be pretty modest
anyway, we can just get rid of the extra complexity and use a
completely straighforward implementation instead.

Despite being a generated file, HACKING has been tracked in
the git repository along with actual source files. As far as
I'm aware, it's the only generated file for which that happens.
Times and times again, people[1] have committed changes to
the source file without refreshing the generated copy at the
same time.
The rationale for tracking the generated file is to help out
people who just cloned the git repository looking to contribue;
however, README-hacking already contains enough information to
get perspective contributors to a place where they can simply
look at docs/hacking.html instead.

Commit 6fb5dd4fd8 removed docs/archnetwork.html.in, but
left behind a pointer to it in docs/formatnetwork.html.in.
Update it so that it points to the wiki, which contains
more detailed and recent information anyway.
The QEMU default is GICv2, and some of the code in libvirt
relies on the exact value. Stop pretending that's not the
case and use GICv2 explicitly where needed.

The regular spec file contains code to deal with the fact
that maintenance releases are uploaded to their own
directory: copy it over to the mingw spec file so that it's
possible to build maintenance releases there as well.
This also switches the source URL from FTP to HTTP for
consistency with the main spec file.

YouCompleteMe[1] is a vim plugin that implements semantic
code completion using libclang.
For non-trivial projects such as libvirt, the plugin needs
some help figuring out where to find the various header
files: generate its configuration file at configure time
so that the plugin works out of the box.

The goal is twofold: firstly, we want to extend the script so
that it can deal with more than a single git submodule, and
secondly we'd like to reduce the amount of duplicated code.
Moreover, since we're making heavy changes to the code anyway,
we might as well make sure it follows a somewhat consistent
coding style too.
To reduce code duplication, we introduce a new --dry-run
option, which can be used by third parties to figure out
whether calling autogen.sh is necessary or not: this allows
us to get rid of the reimplementation of part of the logic
in cfg.mk and guarantee they'll never get out of sync.
Other changes include: making dirty submodules checking and
cleaning entirely independent of other operations; removing
the use of 'set -e' and handling errors explicitly instead;
better parsing of command line arguments.
The Test-AutoBuild project, that this script is supposed to
be used with, hasn't seen any activity in ~6 years; libvirt's
own CI is running on Jenkins with a completely independent
setup that doesn't use the script at all.
This header file has been created so that we can expose
internal functions to the test suite without making them
public: those in qemu_capabilities.h bearing the comment
/* Only for use by test suite */
are obvious candidates for being moved over.
Depending on the architecture, requirements for ACPI and UEFI can
be different; more specifically, while on x86 UEFI requires ACPI,
on aarch64 it's the other way around.
Enforce these requirements when validating the domain, and make
the error message more accurate by mentioning that they're not
necessarily applicable to all architectures.
Several aarch64 test cases had to be tweaked because they would
have failed the validation step otherwise.
Now that the NO_ACPI and NO_HPET capabilities are set
automatically by virQEMUCapsInitQMPBasicArch() if
appropriate for the architecture, they shouldn't be
used manually to avoid masking bugs.
The capabilities used in test cases should match those used
during normal operation for the tests to make any sense.
This results in the generated command line for a few test
cases (most notably non-x86 test cases that were wrongly
assuming they could use -no-acpi) changing.
Instead of having a single function that probes the
architecture from the monitor and then sets a bunch of
basic capabilities based on it, have a separate function
for each part: virQEMUCapsInitQMPArch() only sets the
architecture, and virQEMUCapsInitQMPBasicArch() only sets
the capabilities.
This split will be useful later on, when we will want to
set basic capabilities from the test suite without having
to go through the pain of mocking the monitor.
Creating dummy <change> elements was a workaround for the
HTML DTD not allowing empty <ul> elements, but we can do
better by tweaking the the XSLT stylesheet.
Now that the source file is validated against a schema that
only allows the <code> HTML tag to be used, we can rely on
that assumption to simplify our XSLT stylesheet.
The value we use internally to represent the lack of a memory
locking limit, VIR_DOMAIN_MEMORY_PARAM_UNLIMITED, doesn't
match the value setrlimit() and prlimit() use for the same
purpose, RLIM_INFINITY, so we have to handle the translation
ourselves.

is to remove the memory locking limit altogether.

Instead of having a separate function, we can simply return
zero from the existing qemuDomainGetMemLockLimitBytes() to
signal the caller that the memory locking limit doesn't need
to be set for the guest.
Having a single function instead of two makes it less likely
that we will use the wrong value, which is exactly what
happened when we started applying the limit that was meant
for VFIO-using guests to <memoryBacking><locked>-using
guests.
This reverts commit c2e60ad0e5.
Turns out this check is excessively strict: there are ways
other than <memtune><hard_limit> to raise the memory locking
limit for QEMU processes, one prominent example being
tweaking /etc/security/limits.conf.

We want pcie-root-ports to be used when available in QEMU,
but at the same time we need to ensure that hosts running
older QEMU releases keep working and that the user can
override the default at any time.
Add a comment for the original pcie-root-port test cases
to make it clear how these new test cases are different.
ioh3420 is emulated Intel hardware, so it always looked
quite out of place in aarch64/virt guests. Even for x86/q35
guests, the recently-introduced pcie-root-port is a better
choice because, unlike ioh3420, it doesn't require IO space
(a fairly constrained resource) to work.
If pcie-root-port is available in QEMU, use it; ioh3420 is
still used as fallback for when pcie-root-port is not
available.

QEMU 2.9 introduces the pcie-root-port device, which is
a generic version of the existing ioh3420 device.
Make the new device available to libvirt users.
The generated HTML will contain <ul></ul> otherwise, which
triggers an error during 'make check'.
The proper fix would be not to generate the problematic
HTML in the first place but, while I'm working on it, this
workaround will do.
virQEMUCapsHasPCIMultiBus() performs a version check on
the QEMU binary to figure out whether multiple buses are
supported, so to get the correct aliases assigned when
dealing with pSeries guests we need to spoof the version
accordingly in the test suite.
Due to the extra architecture-specific logic, it's already
necessary for users to call virQEMUCapsHasPCIMultiBus(),
so the capability itself is just a pointless distraction.
Now that QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_PCI_BRIDGE is no longer checked
unless a pci-bridge is really part of the configuration,
and most uses of the legacy PCI controller combo have been
dropped from tests that use PCIe machine types, we can
drop the corresponding capabilities from a lot of test
cases.
qemuDomainAssignPCIAddresses() hardcoded the assumption
that the only way to support devices on a non-zero bus is
to add one or more pci-bridges; however, since we now
support a large selection of PCI controllers that can be
used instead, the assumption is no longer true.
Moreover, this check was always redundant, because the
only sensible time to check for the availability of
pci-bridge is when building the QEMU command line, and
such a check is of course already in place.
In fact, there were *two* such checks, but since one of
the two was relying on the incorrect assumption explained
above, and it was redundant anyway, it has been dropped.
Up until a while ago, libvirt would automatically add a legacy
PCI controllers combo (dmi-to-pci-bridge + pci-bridge) to any
PCIe machine type (x86_64/q35 and aarch64/virt).
As a result, a number of input and output files in the test
suite ended up containing the legacy PCI controllers, even
though they are not needed or in any way relevant to the
feature being tested.
Get rid of most of the occurrences. Most of the time, this
just means removing the controllers from the input file and
regenerating the output files; in a few instances, some
minor tweaking is performed on the input file, most notably
removing the memory balloon: as memory balloon support was
not the scope of the test being changed, there is no loss
of test coverage from doing so.
Several occurrences of the legacy PCI controllers remain in
the test suite, both because removing their usage would have
required even more tweaking, and because we still want to
have coverage of this perfectly valid combination.
When switching over the values in the virDomainControllerModelPCI
enumeration, make sure the proper cast is in place so that the
compiler can warn us when the coverage is not exaustive.
For the same reason, remove the 'default' case from one of the
existing switch statements.
