The actual origin of this so called typo are two commits. The first one was commit72f8a7fthat came up with the following condition: if ((i == 8) & (flags & VIR_QEMU_PROCESS_KILL_FORCE)) Fortunately this succeeded thanks to bool being (int)1 and VIR_QEMU_PROCESS_KILL_FORCE having the value of 1 << 0. The check was then moved and altered in8fd3823117to current state: if ((i == 50) & force) that will work again (both sides of '&' being booleans), but since this was missed so many times, it may pose a problem in the future in case it gets copy-pasted again. LibVirt : simple API for virtualization
Libvirt is a C toolkit to interact with the virtualization capabilities
of recent versions of Linux (and other OSes). It is free software
available under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Virtualization of
the Linux Operating System means the ability to run multiple instances of
Operating Systems concurrently on a single hardware system where the basic
resources are driven by a Linux instance. The library aim at providing
long term stable C API initially for the Xen paravirtualization but
should be able to integrate other virtualization mechanisms if needed.
